Over the last few weeks we added a couple of key features:
- Enhanced undo: Now you can undo others changes as well as your own. E.g. if you draw a rectangle, then someone else sharing the drawing draws a circle, and then you draw a line; you can simply undo in this order: line->circle->rectangle (or redo in the opposite order). Also your history is kept intact per drawing even when you switch drawings, so if you edit drawingA, then work on drawingB, then return to drawingA, you can still undo the last changes to it. Truly unlimited undo!
- Embed support: We released a brand-spanking new developer API a few weeks back, but that didn’t directly benefit most of our users. But now any user can click the “Embed …” button and embed a live whiteboard widget with your drawing on any webpage. You can also choose to embed just the static image (e.g. in Google Docs); the image is updated whenever you click Save.
- You can change the canvas size by just entering width and height now. Click “Settings” to reveal the option.
- When you make a selection, you can use the “Highlight” tool to highlight it to all other users too.
- Other minor tweaks: There’s now a handy “Unsaved” message that shows next to the drawing name if you haven’t saved your last changes. The “New” button now gives you the option of “New drawing” or “Clear canvas (of current drawing)”. Etc.
Hope you find them useful. As always, let us know if you’d like to see any feature added or improved.

Hi!
I just found dabbleboard, and have to say I really like it.
The invitation process could be better with link creation so that invitation links can be passed by an IM or a static link.
The charactersupport it lacking a bit aswell.
As Im swedish, I’d love some Ö,Ä and Ås.

Robert, thanks for the feedback. Both the link creation and character support are as you mention. The link remains static, can be shared by IM etc.; and we support Unicode characters on the whiteboard surface. I’ll follow up with you by email so we can understand why it isn’t working correctly for you.

I like the way to set the canvas size. But, the size still isn’t retained across sessions. It always goes back to 900 x 630.
Is there a way to make the canvas always be a certain size?
Thanks,
Paul

Paul, that’s a good point. We don’t have a way to do that yet, but we’ll soon add it (we’re waiting to bundle that up with a few other canvas-size-related changes).

Truly an awesome free product!
Ability to save the whiteboard is really cool, saves me time from taking screenshots.
One request: need ability to save entire chat log.

John, you’re absolutely right about the chat log. That one’s embarrassingly overdue. We’ll add it real soon.

Tried to embed dabbleboard into my site using the new way mentioned above (not through developer api) and I got a window showing a 404 page of my own website with scrollbars and nothing else?
Got any ideas about how I could do this properly?
Thank you!

wwwindi, if you saw a 404 of your own website, that sounds like a problem with your server, or perhaps you mistyped the URL for your website? If it’s still not working, can you send us an email at contact AT dabbleboard.com?
